Happy Birthday Grandma!

Lexie got all dressed up today to get her picture taken in honor of her Grandma Hoyt's birthday. Happy Birthday to our wonderful Mom & Grandma...We Love You!!! Lexie also just turned 2 weeks old today and keeps growing and getting cuter every day (if that's possible).

This next picture was taken on Sunday. Lexie went to church for the first time. This dress is gorgeous and made by my awesome friend RaNel. We love the dress and Lexie of course looks beautiful in it! I also love it of course because it's purple.

1 Week

A lot can change in a week. One week ago today our little Lexie joined our family and completely changed our lives for the better. She is a really sweet baby and we are so blessed to have her. She is very strong and from the day we brought her home she has been able to lift her head by herself and she can also turn onto her side which was amazing to us. I guess she is just a fast developer. We thought we would share a few pictures.

I think this is a sweet picture of Lexie

Hooray, I'm 1 Week Old!

Meeting Great Grandma Hoyt

Last night Lexie had her first real bath. Her cord fell off the night before only 5 days after she was born, which was pretty fast. She actually liked the real bath a lot more than she did the sponge baths.

Cute picture of Lexie with her Daddy

And this last picture shows how sweet Lexie's Dad is to her Mom. He brought home these gorgeous roses for me the other day after a routine trip to the store for me. He is the sweetest man ever and is so helpful with the baby and will do anything and everything to help out. I am so blessed to have the best husband ever!

Lexie Greets the World

I finally got a minute to sit and post a few new pictures. I'll try to keep some current pictures up because we all know how fast these little babies change. We got home from the hospital on Friday and had a weekend full of no sleep and lots of bonding time with our little sweet Lexie. One thing that I'm grateful for is that Lexie got her dad's mild, sweet temperment. Not much makes her upset. The first time I really heard her upset was getting poked in the foot last night for a bilirubin test for her jaundice. I guess she got the curse from my side of the family of being jaundice, but she is doing well and we think she'll get over that soon...we are hoping at least. I'll have to update more on the whole birth story when I get a minute but I know what people really want are pictures so here are a few from her first few days of life. I'll try to get some cute ones later to post.

Well, that was her first 2 days of life meeting the world. I'll get more pictures up later, but I need to go feed my baby. Thanks for all the well wishes from everyone. Hopefully soon I'll get to respond to most of you.

She's HERE!

At 9:35am Thursday August 14th, little Lexie Lyman was born. Weighing in at slightly under 8lbs and measuring 19 inches. She has dark hair and long eyelashes just like her mother. The nurses of course claim it is the cutest baby they have ever seen, we agree.

Stubborn Meets Science

We went in to our normal doctor's appointment wondering what Angie's blood pressure would be like this week. Considering two weeks had passed and the baby hadn't shown any new signs of coming, we figured our stubborn child was never going to come. The doctor gave Angie the bad news that she indeed had made no more progress toward labor; and to top it off her blood pressure was even higher than the week before and wasn't dropping while she rested. So he sent us over to the hospital to get some blood work done and to wait for an hour while they took her blood pressure every 10 minutes.

After 3 hours of taking pressure, we discovered that our doctor was at a family function and the backup doctor wasn't being extremely helpful in getting us out of there in a timely fashion. Finally they decided to have her amniotic fluid measured by ultrasound; we went and did that, and by the time we got back to the labor and delivery department the backup doctor had made the decision that Angie should just stay and deliver. So they gave her the drafty gown, stuck an I.V. in her hand, and we were told that our doctor would be right in to induce her into labor.

3 hours more passed, and they finally had come to induce her. Interestingly enough, by the time they showed up, Angie actually started showing signs of going into labor by herself. So they decided to use a less drastic induction medication rather than pitocin (which can make contractions extremely intense). So now we have science to force that baby out! She wanted to stay in her cozy pouch forever, but we are using a crowbar on the door and revoking her umbilical privileges.

Angie got her wish, she can sit all comfortable-like and watch the Olympics to take her mind off the pain. We just watched Michael Phelps cream the competition. That man must be half fish or something, there isn't a record he can't break or a gold medal he can't win.

2nd Anniversary

Today we celebrated our 2nd Wedding Anniversary!!! Hard to believe how much has happened in the past two years. I can't imagine my life without Bryan; he is an amazing husband and we have such a great time together! I really believe the people who say you love your spouse more and more each day and each year! I am grateful we are sealed so we can be together forever because I can't imagine not having my family for at least that long! We were able to go out to dinner tonight which was nice and we are now eagerly awaiting the newest member of our family and hope she decides to arrive very soon!

No Baby Yet

People have been asking if we have a baby yet. The answer is no...we are still waiting. As of yesterday at the Dr. I had made a bit of progress from the week before, but not much. They are now concerned about my blood pressure because it was high yesterday and when we went to have it checked again this morning it was high again. It did go down a little bit after 3 tries but it's still kind of a concern. Sorry this is a short and kind of boring post, but I just wanted to update everyone. I'm still working until the 15th unless this baby decides to show up sooner. Just 10 more days until the due date!

Baby Shower

Yesterday my mom, sister-in-law Tracie, and sisters threw me a baby shower. We had a lot of fun and got a lot of really nice things for our little baby girl! Here are a few pictures of the party.

My Grandma Mickelson made us this beautiful blessing dress & a white afghan.

Our baby is going to be very well dressed!

Well, we are now at 38 weeks, only 2 weeks from the due date!! I went to the Dr. on Wednesday and I was dialated to a 1, and 80% effaced. My Dr. told me he doesn't think I'll make it to my due date so we are crossing our fingers! I was having regular contractions today during sacrament meeting, but after resting this afternoon I haven't had as many, so we will just see how this week goes. I'm glad I didn't go into labor this weekend because my Dr. is out of town until tomorrow so I am good anytime after that. We will be posting to our blog as soon as we can once she is born so be sure to check back often in the next week or two for updates!
