Mesquito Bites and Quality Family Time

We spent last weekend in Manti at my family reunion. The annual reunion is always a time of family togetherness, squished together in a tent or trailor camping out and having a good time. We really enjoyed relaxing and visiting with everyone. Here is a picture of part of the campsite.

There were only two things that were not fun at the family reunion...the heat, and the swarming mesquitos. Bryan and I came out of there without too many bites. I have a few, but only two of them on my legs are very big. Here is a picture of us at the Manti cemetery when we all went to put a wreath on my great-grandparent's grave. We don't look extremely happy in this picture, but that's only because we got very little sleep in the trailor the night before, and it was SO hot standing out there in the sunlight. I also think my belly looks huge in this picture, but I am over 32 weeks now so I guess that's to be expected.

Yesterday we started going to our birth class. We will be going to class every Wednesday evening for the next 6 weeks and I think it's going to be good to get us all prepared for the big event in the next 7-8 weeks!!! Last night's class was great. We got to tour the hospital birth facilities which helped us know more of what to expect when the time comes for us to use them. The nursery in the hospital had a brand new baby girl in there that we got to see. Bryan got a little emotional to see a brand new baby girl - he is greatly anticipating our little girl's arrival...we both are!

Ultrasound #2

We had another ultrasound today. It wasn't the greatest because the baby's head is down so low the tech couldn't ever get a good picture of it so all those cute pictures we thought we might get just weren't going to happen. Plus, she was asleep and not moving at all so we were kind of disappointed, but at least we got all the measurements and she's right on schedule and growing! It also looked like she has quite a bit of hair so we hope she really does have hair when she's born. This is the only picture we really got. It's a profile shot so hopefully you can see her head and nose and mouth and below her neck is the umbilical cord which looks like a bubble.

She's kind of crowded in there. She weighs just an ounce shy of 4 lbs now and she is measuring just about 2 days off the due date. Everything looks good and we got another confirmation that it is a girl! Two months to go!

On the Countdown...Less than 10 weeks to go!

Well, here I am at 30 weeks and we are under 10 weeks to go...as of today just 67 more days until the due date! It's hard to believe time is passing so quickly and our little girl will be coming in just around 2 more months! In the next 2 weeks or so we are having our 2nd ultrasound so we can't wait for that and will share more pictures of her when we have them. At my appointment last week they took my blood pressure first thing before I had rested at all so it was high, but after sitting it went down to very normal. However, the Dr. was concerned and wanted me to go back in a week just to get it checked. We went in on Monday and it is perfectly normal so I'm gald about that. We signed up for a birthing class which will start in 2 weeks and go for 6 weeks and hopefully it will get us all prepared for what is coming.

Not much else new is going on with us. We are just busy with work and trying to get things ready for the baby. We are gearing up for the big family reunion in Manti next weekend. That may be one of the only trips we take this summer but we are excited!

So I pose this question...how much candy can you jam into a priority flat-rate envelope? Well, that is the task we took on last week and the girl at the post office thought we were a bit crazy. She asked who were were sending a big envelope of candy to and we told her our little missionary Pete in the MTC. I hope he enjoyed all that candy...I'm sure it was much appreciated!
