Teething & Exploring

Last Saturday Lexie's first tooth came in--bottom left. I think the other bottom tooth is on its way because she has been chewing like crazy on the right side. She hasn't been her normal, happy self lately and has been getting up crying in the night which isn't like her at all. She has wanted to be held and really clingy to Mommy. But, this is only part of the time. The rest of the time she's being super cute and having fun playing. I don't have pictures to share because my camera batteries are dead and I haven't made it to the store to buy new ones yet. We did get a few videos before the batteries died so I'll have to just post those today.

The first video is of Lexie clapping. She loves doing pat-a-cake.

This next video is several clips of Lexie crawling with music added to make it more dramatic. Bryan and I were laughing so hard while making this video so I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
As you can see Lexie loves exploring the house and getting into everything! I don't know why she decided to be mobile so quickly, but it sure is cute to watch even if I do spend most of my time chasing her down!

7 Months & On The Go!

Lexie turned 7 months old on Saturday. I took these pictures then, but haven't gotten them posted until now. She loves to sit in her little rocking chair that Grandma & Grandpa Lyman gave to her. At 7 months, Lexie is getting so big...and so mobile! She has been rolling all over for some time now and getting close to crawling for a month. I took the video of her scooting Saturday night and in just the past few days she is now pretty much crawling on her hands and knees with a little bit of scooting in there too. I'll have to take an updated video sometime. Lexie is such a happy girl and loves to play with her toys. Now that she can move around the house, she likes to get into everything she's not supposed to have... just like most kids I suppose. She laughs all the time now and finds so many things funny, especially her Daddy. She loves to babble and squeel like she's a dolphin. Lexie also loves food! She has loved her cereal and all the veggies I have given her, and she just started eating fruit. We are so blessed to have such a sweet little girl in our home!

Lexie's new favorite thing to do while eating is grabbing the spoon to try and feed herself. I usually keep her hands away until the last bite, then I let her go at it with the spoon for a few minutes. She loves it! Here are some pictures and a video of her with her spoon. Enjoy!

Going Out

Yesterday Lexie and I went to lunch with some of my friends I used to work with at the University. It had snowed the night before and it was cold out so I dressed Lexie in a warm, comfy outfit that great-aunt Sylvia gave her. She looked so cute I decided to take some pictures before we left.
Here is our cute girl
Such a pretty face
"Rawrrrrrr!" This picture cracked me up.
Here she is on her hands and knees. She is getting so close to crawling. She can go backwards really well and she can turn herself around and she does this thing where she reaches and can kind of scoot. She can pretty much get to where she wants to be.
I took our picture before we left to go out.
I think Lexie looks cute in this picture. Me...not so much.

March Madness...Starting in February

Those of you who know me best, know my love for sports. My husband...not so much, but he is good to me and comes with me to sporting events once in a while. My brother Matt's team was playing in Cedar last week at the region tournament so we decided to go support his team. First of all, I posted previously about how Lexie hates the noise of the basketball games. We took her on Tuesday to the semi-final game which featured Valley (our team) who was ranked 4th during the season, against Escalante who was undefeated in the region. It was an intense game and Valley actually came out on top! Well, Lexie didn't like the noise too much so Bryan spent most of his time holding her at the top of the stairs so she wasn't screaming at all the noise where we were all sitting. The next day we came to the championship game: Valley vs. Panguitch. Lexie did much better during the game and sat nicely even though it was extremely noisy (especially with her mom yelling at the refs...they were so bad!)

Here is a picture of Lexie watching during the championship game.
This is my little sister watching the game.
Her shirt says "My Parents are Exhausted". So true.
Matt made critical free throws down the stretch and the Valley boys came out on top by 2 points, winning the region championship!
Here they are getting their trophy.
Here is Matt with the trophy and cutting down the net.

The entire team and coaches with the trophy.
This week is the state tournament in Richfield. I miss the days of it being in Cedar so I could go watch, but good luck to the team!
